Christmas After All
Sorry this notice is going out late. The job's still busy though ramping down for the holidays.
So Katie and Yoshi sounded like they might be available on the 25th, so that's the best time. The invitation is extended for Christmas, anytime after noon. Send me a note at work (the hitachigst.com address) or call me up if you need directions.
Attendees so far: Noel will be there, as will Sachie and a couple of her friends.

A summary of the events:
The party convenes at noon with Sachie and her friends Nishijima-san and Kitajima-san. Noel and Yoshi show up later. Kitajima-san helps me finish decorating the tree (from a last minute purchase of string lights, tinsel, and a cheap angel ornament to go on top) while Nishijima-san and Sachie prep the hors d'oeuvres. Some Christmas music courtesy of Sinatra and champagne open the festivities.
Not too long after Noel arrives we have round one of Sachie's pizza. After sufficiently being stuffed, gifts are opened, and much cool stuff is had. Yoshi came around 17:30 or so. Round two of homemade pizza, Campari Club-style, and meatloaf for the hungry. I had a good time talking with Yoshi, since I haven't seen him for probably over a year. Everyone went for a third round of pizza. After exhausting many topics of conversation, the video games come out. First we play Super Smash Brothers on the Game Cube, then DDR on the PS2—always a favorite. DDR is tiring, though, so the small-talk begins again, and before we know it, it's 22:30. We close out and proceed the train station, myself included to see my guests out.
Not bad for Christmas in Japan! I think everyone had a good time. For me, if not for the party, it probably wouldn't have felt like Christmas.
